Glutathione and Anti-Aging

There have been many quests and expeditions over the years to find the magic bullet that prevents and reverses aging. And although aging is a natural and beautiful part of life, we all want to find a way to extend the ticking time bomb that is our life span just a day or longer than we are intended. Is this wrong? Well, no. However, the search continues to crack the code in anti-aging and it is thought that we may have finally found something.

There is a theory they call the “Free Radical Theory” which states that free radical, or unpaired electrons, which accumulate over time from the food we eat and the air we breathe, as well as the sun that warms us on cool summer days is the cause. So how do these ‘free radicals’ have anything to do with aging? The accumulation of these unpaired electrons are destroying our cells over time causing improper functions as well as death due to the damage caused. However, there is hope. The body relies on many antioxidants that are released over time to both protect as well as remove the threats of these free radicals in our systems.

Glutathione

GSH or Glutathione is our armored tank against these free radicals and is responsible for our health as well as anti-aging. It scrubs our bodies in attempts to remove these free radicals and slow the process of aging in our bodies. This powerful antioxidant which not only increases the vitamins E and C, it also neutralizes free radicals such as hydrogen peroxide within our bodies and turns it to water through a very complicated process.

Decrease of Glutathione

From the age of 20, the body begins to decrease the production of Glutathione in our bodies by 1% every year which in turn increases the number of free radicals that are running rampant in our bodies. However, through the improvement of technology and the wonders of science, there are ways to increase the levels of Glutathione in our bodies to allow optimum performance against aging. This increase helps to lower the effects of time as well as other factors that cause aging.

How it’s Done

There are two ways in which the increase of Glutathione is accomplished. The first is through supplementation within our diet while the second is an infusion of Glutathione directly into the body. However each approach has its own set of problems that are hard to overcome and through the use of both processes you will likely notice some results. The problem with the first method is that the molecules are mostly destroyed as they are supplemented through a diet high in fruits, vegetables, whey proteins, and N-acetylcysteine. There are some results with this method as there is a little bit of absorption in this process, but the level of absorption is minute. The second method is both faster and more effective as it is a more direct approach and has greater success of increasing Glutathione.
